Bella Eisenman Blumenfeld

Jan Abby Liff honors Bella Eisenman Blumenfeld, the wife of Shlomo Hirsh (Tzvi) Blumenfeld, of Bendin (Bedzin), Poland. Although her daughters Lodka and Blimka Blumenfeld both died in the Holocaust, her son Marik survived and later married Sonja Guttmann. Marik, who was born in 1916 in Poland, was also known as Meir. Bella’s husband Shlomo Hirsh (Tzvi) Blumenfeld often wrote postcards to Marik and his wife Sonja during the period in which they were forced to live in Siberia. The couple eventually left Siberia and settled in Israel, where they raised two sons, Dan and Ron.
