Susan Limor honors Berrel Nussen, her maternal grandfather, who worked at a fruit stall in Kosice, Czechoslovakia. He wore a traditional hat and beard, and was “extremely Orthodox,” according to Limor. Nussen was a well-educated man who fathered many children with his wife, Shoshana, who worked as a midwife.
