Shoshana Nussen

Susan Limor honors Shoshana Nussen, her maternal grandmother, who worked as a healthcare provider and midwife in Kosice, Czechoslovakia. Women tended not to go to male doctors to give birth and would go to Nussen instead, who handled normal births that did not require a physician. She was an expert on the use of herbs, and had small, nimble hands that helped her as a midwife.
