Sally Wolkoff remembers her brother Moniek Abramcyzk, who was born in 1923 and died when the family was being evacuated to the Lódz ghetto. The Nazis had asked for the assistance of strong men, and used them to help assist the elderly and children. After they helped out, they were taken into a forest and shot. Sally says that he was a “wonderful young man” who had tried hard to keep the family together.
