Rachel Chojnacki honors her father-in-law David Chojnacki and mother-in-law Ester Chojnacki, both of whom were born in Belchatow, Poland, a small mining town. David worked in the transportation business and Ester was a housewife. Both were taken to the Chelmno death camp and shot or gassed in 1942. Rachel says that David was outgoing and Ester was shy; she remembers them both as “lovely people, good listeners, and good family people.”
