The Preis, Kahn, Levy, and Zeitlin families honor Siegfried Kahn, who was born August 17, 1920, in Leeheim, Germany. Siegfried left Europe with his parents when he was sixteen years old. During World War II, he joined the United States Army and worked as a translator in Germany. After the war, he worked at the Nuremberg trials and then decided to remain in Europe. Many years later, he returned to the United States, where he worked at the May Hosiery Mill as a salesman and later ran a successful business. Siegfried eventually married and had one son, named Philip, who was born in 1983. Siegfried Kahn died in 1997.
