Rachel Chojnacki honors her mother Adela Gliksman, who was born in the late 1800s in Poland and died in 1942. She was shot in her hometown of Belchatow before being taken away during the Holocaust. Rachel remembers that she was “very charitable taking in family members and raising them. (She) gave dowries to poor girls so they could marry. (The) town members came to her if they needed anything.”
