Stephanie Freudenthal honors her relatives Emmie and Fritz Stammreich, both whom were born the early 1900s, lived in Berlin, and died at Auschwitz during the Holocaust. Freudenthal was Emmie and Fritz’s niece, and she only knew them for a short period of time when she was a young girl, as Freudenthal left Germany in 1938 when she was nine years old. Before he perished, Fritz worked in a dress and blouse factory. Emmie had gotten married in 1939. Freudenthal found about the fate of her relatives many years after their death, when information was released.
