Peter Katz honors his grandmother Ernestine Lichtenstein, who was born in Germany, possibly in Breslau. She was a housewife who lived in a large Jewish community in Breslau. Peter states, “I remember her well. We had a fine relationship (and) visited her often in Breslau. I lived about 200 miles away….Whenever I visited her, she served me pigeons, cooked. She had two daughters; my mother and Judith.” Ernestine died in Theresienstadt, probably in 1942.
