Eric Rosenfeld honors his father Herman Rosenfeld, who was born in 1873 in Ingleheim, Germany, and worked as a merchant and salesman before his death in 1938. He had fought in World War I for the Germany army. After Herman Rosenfeld died, his son went to an orphanage in Frankfort to go to school, and his wife stayed in Seeheim until she was deported in April of 1942.
