Lea Naft and Sara Seidner honor their parents, Josef and Golda Slomovic, who both perished during the Holocaust at Auschwitz in 1943. Josef and Golda were born in 1883 and 1888, respectively, in Kolocava, Czechoslovakia. Their granddaughter, Goldie Morris, notes that the family was very traditional. Gitel, their daughter, also died in Holocaust, most likely in Galicia, Poland, in 1941. She was 35 at the time of her death, and married to a man named Zisa. Gitel had been living in Kopashnovo, Czechoslovakia.
