Menachem Limor was born in 1930 in Czestochowa, Poland, and survived the Czestochowa ghetto, the Hasag Munitions factory/Czestochowa Slave Labor Camp, and Buchenwald Concentration Camp. To survive, he remembers drinking melted snow. During inspections, he also stood atop snow so that he would look taller as the Nazis eliminated and killed boys who were too young for slave labor. Limor was liberated by the Americans on April 11, 1945, and was soon thereafter reunited with his brother Irvin.
