Hanna Hamburger has honored her father’s sister’s husband Phillip Hecht, who was born in Germany. Hamburger met him a few times at her grandfather’s house, and only knows that “after we came to the United States, my father tried to get papers and money to help (him). By the time we got the money they had been sent to Riga. That’s the last we heard from them. I found (his) name at Yad Vachem and at the Holocaust Museum.”
