Sally Wolkoff honors her brother Berek Abram, who lost an eye when he was hit in the face in a concentration camp. Abram lived in Sweden for a number of years, where he began the process of trying to find out what had happened to his family during the Holocaust. He later moved to the United States from Sweden, settled in San Francisco, and worked in a catering service. Sally Wolkoff describes her brother as “the best in the world.”
