Olivia Newman honors her father’s maternal familial line, the Rosenzweig family of Vienna. Dr. Max Rosenzweig, born in 1882, was a dentist in Vienna, and later married Grete Tischler. The couple had one son, named Hans. Both Dr. Max Rosenzweig and his son Hans died in the Holocaust, as well as other members of the family, but specific details are unknown. Olivia’s father Rudolf Schneider also died during the Holocaust, probably at Mauthausen.
