Felicia Anchor honors her step-grandfather, Moritz Choinowski, and her maternal grandmother’s father, Simon Zbozenske. Moritz was the only grandfather that Felicia ever knew. He had survived the Holocaust in Germany and moved to the United States. He was a tailor, a kind and gentle man, who later died in Toledo, Ohio, in 1967. Anchor and her sisters remember him with great affection. Anchor knows very little about Simon Zbozenske, but he used to visit her mother’s home before the war began. It is not known what happened to him during the war.
