Szaja Abramczyk

Sally Wolkoff honors her father Szaja Abramczyk, who was from Pabianice, Poland, and perished at Auschwitz. According to Berek Abram, Szaja’s son who survived the war, he last saw his father in a weakened state at a concentration camp. The men had been ordered on a death march, and Berek struggled to help his father survive. When they arrived to Bergen-Belson, he left his father for a brief moment. Berek never saw him again. Sally Wolkoff notes that her father was very modern, very well educated, and worked in the textile business. “He kept a beautiful family,” she remembers.
