Michael Gryll honors his paternal grandfather Szlama Lejzor Gril, who was born in Pultusk, Poland, in 1882 and died around 1939 in Russia. He worked as a tailor during his life, but the specific circumstances of his death are not known. Michael Gryll also honors his paternal grandmother Jachet Daniel Gril, who was born in Przosnysz, Poland, in 1886. Very few details are known about their lives, but their son, Daniel Gryll, mourned their deaths by observing a Yahrzeit for them. He chose a death date for both of his parents because he did not know the actual date of their deaths.
